Las Vegas Restaurant Week is Back June 2

Your annual opportunity to feed your foodie curiosity, as well as help feed your hungry neighbors, is nearly here.

For the 18th year, restaurants of all sizes, cuisines and price points will be offering special prix fixe menus and donating a portion of each bill to Three Square Food Bank.

“It is an illustration of this community coming together to help other people,” Three Square Food Bank Event Marketing Manager Will Edwards told KSNV-TV. He calls it a “win-win-win.”

“It’s a win for us, it’s a win for the restaurant, but it’s also a win for those in our community who need a little food assistance.”

It’s your chance to support a great cause and explore a restaurant you might not otherwise consider due to price, location or cuisine. From Harlo Steakhouse in Summerlin to Echo & Rig in Henderson (and dozens in between), nearly every neighborhood in the Las Vegas Valley is represented.

The format is this: restaurants offer special Restaurant Week menus featuring either familiar favorites or special dishes created especially for this event. Prices range from as little as $20 for breakfast, brunch or lunch, and anywhere from $30 to $120 for dinner.

The prices depend on the restaurants. $20 will get you a nice breakfast at 1228 Main. $40 is all you need for lunch at Bardot Brasserie, Border Grill or China Mama. You can score a $50 dinner at Buddy V’s, Crossroads Kitchen, Lotus of Siam or Pizza Rock. Or go all the way to the top and drop $120 for dinner at top-end places like Bouchon, Carbone, Don’s Prime or Michael Mina.

Other restaurants and bars that don’t offer full meal service are also part of the fun. For example, the Westgate’s SuperBook will donate $2 for every “Game Changer Bloody Mary” it sells during the 13 days of Restaurant Week.

The Silver Stamp Beer Bar has created a special version of its famous pickled eggs and will donate $1 from every purchase. And Sweet Sin Bakery and Café at The LINQ will donate $2 for every purchase of its Dubai Chocolate Strawberry Cups.

While the bargains are great and the participants (about 270 businesses taking part) are plentiful, Edwards reminds us of the most important numbers.

“Right now, there’s a little more than 341,000 individuals in Southern Nevada who are struggling with hunger,” he said. “Within that number, over 115,000 children live in food-insecure homes – meaning that their parents don’t know where their next meal is going to come from.”

Three Square has been working to lower those numbers for decades. It’s served more than 10 million meals since 2007 thanks to Las Vegas Restaurant Week.

Las Vegas Restaurant Week begins on June 2 and runs through June 13.
