A trio of new restaurants is being developed on the ground floor of the new parking structure, built on Carson Avenue’s restaurant row.
Developer J Dapper tells us that the building, adjacent to the historic Post Office building on the corner of Carson and Las Vegas Boulevard, will be home to a pachinko-themed bar, a casual French eatery, and a local outpost of a Michelin-recognized Tijuana taco restaurant.
After a recent breakfast at the Broken Yolk Café (located on the ground floor of the Post Office building), Dapper took Neon News on a tour of the construction of the parking structure. It included walkthroughs of all three new establishments: Tacos El Franc, Baguette Café, and Pachinko Pub.
The first of those, Tacos El Franc, will be an outpost of a Tijuana taco spot that has operated since 1996. It was created by restaurateur Javier Valdez, who had been selling tacos in that area since the 1970s to cater to American visitors. In 2024, the prestigious Michelin Guide listed it as a classic Mexican restaurant.
Baguette Café is also a spinoff—in this case, it is located much closer to Downtown Las Vegas. Established in 2009, the company currently operates two Valley locations: on West Sunset Road in the Southwest Valley and on Eastern Avenue in Henderson. Open for breakfast and lunch, it’s known for its sandwiches, toasts, bowls, salads, quiche and pastries.
The final venue, Pachinko Pub, is from Fukuburger founder Colin Fukunaga. As the name indicates, the bar will take center stage. Artist renderings show several working pachinko machines (NOT for gambling) and a massive oversized machine behind the bar. No word yet on an opening date for any of these venues.
In the meantime, Dapper is still seeking the perfect restaurant to occupy the roof of the Post Office building. The space is still being built, with indoor and outdoor seating and a retractable ceiling. It will be accessible via a private elevator or from the fourth floor of the adjacent parking structure.
