Events

Komodo Las Vegas — July 9

Komodo Las Vegas at the Fontainebleau will host a sushi-making masterclass taught by Sushi Chef Yutaka Kude. The masterclass will begin with a signature welcome cocktail and an introduction to the art and history of sushi making. Guests will then get the chance to learn various techniques while enjoying their very own sushi creations.

Each masterclass participant will receive an apron, sushi-making kit, and class certificate of completion.

The class will begin at 7 p.m. and cost $110 (plus tax and tip). For an additional $65, students can make their way to the dining room after class to enjoy a three-course omakase tasting with cocktail pairings.

New Vista Wine Walk — July 13

New Vista will host a wine walk at Town Square from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tickets are $50 in advance ($60 at the door) and include an eclectic mix of wine varietals from 18 tasting stations and live entertainment. Each attendee will receive a commemorative souvenir wine glass, tasting card, and map outlining the locations of the samples. All proceeds benefit New Vista Community, Nevada’s largest non-profit residential provider supporting people of all ages with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD).

Las Vegas Indoor Summer Beer Festival — July 20

The Ahern Hotel will host the inaugural Las Vegas Indoor Summer Beer Festival, offering unlimited sampling of beers from several of our local breweries, including Able Baker, Beer Zombies, Big Dog’s, CraftHaus, Nevada Brew Works, North 5th and Tenaya Creek.

Tickets for General Admission from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. are $39, and VIP tickets, which also include early admission at noon and all-you-can-eat food from Ahern Hotel’s Joel’s Chophouse and Ottimo Gourmet Kitchen & Pizzeria, are $74.

The VIP is an excellent value, with Short Rib Grilled Cheese, Truffled Mushroom Arancini, ahi tuna crudo, and Little Gem Spanish Caesar from Joel’s Chophouse; Detroit-style Pizza by the Slice, BBQ Pork Belly, spicy crab Nero with squid ink Lumache pasta, and Fried Mac-n-Cheese Bites from Ottimo.

Cathédrale Debuts New Seasonal Menu Items

The ingredient-driven Mediterranean restaurant Cathédrale at ARIA recently celebrated its first anniversary, debuted several seasonal dishes, and welcomed its new executive chef, Brett LaReau.

New appetizers include Mediterranean Meze with chickpea hummus, tzatziki, and red pepper feta; Handmade Burrata with marinated peppers and chickpea beignets; Fluke Crudo with watermelon, capers, and mint; Tomato Mykonos with kalamata olive, cucumber, and feta; and Roasted Summer Vegetables with baby carrots, zucchini, beets, and Greek yogurt.

New entrees are Maine Lobster Rigatoni with squid ink pasta, humongous Moroccan Prawns with red wine vinaigrette, and 48-ounce Mishima Reserve Tomahawk with shallot confit and au poivre sauce made from the highly prized Woodford Reserve Bourbon Bacharach Edition (which retails for $1,600).

Two new desserts are Vanilla Labneh with Greek yogurt, preserved strawberry and white chocolate streusel, and Baklava Napoleon with candied walnuts, thyme honey, and cinnamon diplomat ice cream.

Jaleo Offering Limited-Edition Sangrias During July

Jaleo at The Cosmopolitan has kicked off its Summer of Sangría, offering five limited-edition sangrías throughout July.

The sangrías include:

  • Sangría de Cava—a sparkling wine sangría with cava, gin, vermouth and seasonal fruit ($40/half pitcher and $62/pitcher)
  • Sangría de Vino Tinto—Jaleo’s version of red wine sangría ($38/half pitcher and $60/pitcher)
  • Sangría de Sandia—white wine, watermelon and vodka sangría ($38/half pitcher and $60/pitcher)
  • Sangría Rosada—rosé wine, gin, vermouth, seasonal fruit, and citrus ($38/half pitcher and $60/pitcher
  • Sangría Roja de Lujo—Jaleo’s version of sangría with premium Garnacha wine, brandy, vermouth, and seasonal fruit ($70/pitcher).

In addition, three chef-selected tapas are offered to pair with the sangría for $24.

Entertainment News

Circa Resort & Casino All-American Celebrations on July 4

Circa Resort will celebrate Independence Day in a big way, with several special happenings throughout the day and night.

Events include:

  • Panoramic views of Las Vegas’ fireworks display.
  • Legacy Club’s annual Star-Spangled Glamour event from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. features live music, an open bar with beer, wine, champagne, call spirits, and a variety of select signature libations, and patriotic-themed bites such as Buttermilk Fried Chicken Skewers, Passes Burnt Ends with pickled watermelon, Micro Sliders, and Snickers Mousse Shooters. Tickets are $150 per person plus LET tax and can be purchased here. The event is open to guests 21 and over.
  • Stadium Swim’s inaugural Weenies and Bikinis hot dog eating contest at 5 p.m. Contestants will take the stage in Americana-themed swimwear from Las Vegas-based brand Jobee Swim and compete in a three-minute challenge to eat the most American Coney Island dogs with the top three speed eaters awarded cash prizes totaling $5,000.
  • Baseball and soccer games (including the 2024 Copa América Quarterfinals at 6 p.m.) at the world’s largest sportsbook projected on a three-story, 78-million-pixel high-definition
