Mark September 21 on your calendars for an event self-described as “By Women, For Everyone.”
Initially introduced in 2019 as an event celebrating “All the Women,” Picnic in the Alley brings art, music, delicious culinary bites, quaffable cocktails, and more to the Las Vegas community. It is curated and logistically managed entirely by women creators, coordinators and experts from the Las Vegas Valley.
In keeping with tradition, the coordinators are keeping it intimate and engaging. In addition to exceptional food and drink offerings, guests will also enjoy a series of exciting and informative activities, such as live music, readings and chats.
Guests will be surrounded by local art and introduced to local wares available for sale.
“Picnic in the Alley has grown into such an extraordinary event for Las Vegas, with female talent coming from so many different areas and industries that make this city special,” says Founder Jolene Mannina via press release. “Our 2023 Picnic exceeded our wildest expectations, and I cannot wait to share our 2024 event with this amazing community.”

Supporting the Women’s Hospitality Initiative
Per the event website, “All profits from Picnic in the Alley 2024 will be donated to the Women’s Hospitality Initiative, supporting the advancement and empowerment of women in the hospitality industry. Join us and be part of the movement!”
Did you know that almost 50% of graduates of prominent culinary schools are women, yet only 7% of head chefs and restaurant owners are women?
The Women’s Hospitality Initiative works with women and men who want to learn to create more and better spaces to support women in hospitality through a culture of diversity and inclusion. This includes research and development to “implement programs that help empower women to reach their full leadership potential.” (WHI website)
