Pick of the Week: Gaetano’s Ristorante
Gaetano’s Ristorante is a family-owned restaurant that has graced the Siena Promenade center on Eastern Avenue in Henderson since its opening in 2002. As you reach the intersection of Eastern and Siena Heights, you’ll likely notice the beacon of a large copper dome, signaling that you’ve arrived at Gaetano’s.
The eatery featuring authentic northern Italian cuisine has unveiled a bar expansion and new reverse happy hour.
The renovation, mainly based on owners Nick and Sarah Palmeri’s many trips to Italy, brings some attractive additions with a very European feel. The new bar is decked out with bronze tile, a stone countertop, greenery, large mirrors, beautiful marine green wallpaper, an espresso machine, two big screen TVs, additional tables and seats and an extended bartop that has doubled the bar’s capacity.

A new daily Reverse Happy Hour from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. offers 50% off more than a dozen menu favorites by purchasing any wine, cocktail, mocktail, or beer. The half-off menu includes Bruschetta, Calamari Fritti, Brodetto Mussels, Stuffed Homemade Mozzarella Sticks, Rigatoni alla Vodka, Chicken Parmesan, Butternut Squash Ravioli, Ora King Salmon, Veal Milanese, and Sicilian Eggplant Rollatini. This equates to tremendous deals, with nearly all selections landing below $20 after the discount. A bonus is that the Reverse Happy Hour is available in both the bar and dining room.
There is also a daily happy hour in the bar area from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., offering several snacks, small plates, pizzettes, and charcuterie priced from $6-$15. Drink deals include house red and white wine for $10, cocktails (like the best-selling Sicilian Old Fashioned made with Amaro Averna from Sicily, Wild Turkey 101, and Cocktail & Son’s Spiced Demerara syrup) for $10, spirits (such as Glen Grant 10-Year Scotch) for $10, and Peroni beer for $5.
After more than two decades, this eatery thankfully continues to offer upscale Strip elegance and sophistication at an off-Strip location at a locals’ friendly price point, and now, with the addition of this upgraded bar and happy hours, we have yet more reasons to make our way to the iconic dome.

With the Lunar New Year commemorating the Year of the Snake, you may want to check out the traditional lion dance, symbolizing power, wisdom, and superiority, bringing good luck and fortune for the upcoming year.
Three are taking place within Las Vegas casino resorts on February 1.
A dragon and lion dance will commemorate the Year of the Snake at Bellagio at 6:30 p.m. in the resort’s main valet. Yau Kung Moon will dance a traditional Southern Shaolin Kung Fu system—a collection of martial arts with more than 1,000 years of history—with a modern flair. Yau Kung Moon, which translates to “Style of Flexible Power,” is one of the world’s most respected martial arts and dragon and lion dance organizations. Known for its trademark gold uniforms and innovative routines, Yau Kung Moon has been recognized internationally for being the first U.S. team to compete in Malaysia’s 1990 Invitational World Lion Dance Festival. After the dance, stop in at the Bellagio Conservatory to view their Year of the Snake display on view through March 1, which includes a majestic 28-foot floral serpent, hanging red and gold silk lanterns, and a koi fish fountain spouting water into a tranquil pond.
At The STRAT, the Lohan School of Shaolin will perform the traditional dance at 8 p.m. The high-energy dance will feature a special 10-person dragon and begin at the main entrance of The STRAT and travel through the casino, blessing the Hotel Front Desk, CHĪ Asian Kitchen, and the High Limit Lounge.
At Resorts World, the traditional will begin at the Plaza Entrance at 6 p.m. and go through the property to bring good luck. A backdrop in the Conrad Lobby will include red lanterns and “Year of the Snake” signage for snapping those social selfies.
